I'm enjoying my time in the Northwest. I've been able to connect with a number of my Multnomah friends. I've also been able to see a few supporters. I'm looking forward to seeing more before heading back to WI.

I leave for Camp Morrow tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to leaning into teens this week. I miss being actively involved in youth ministry. I'm excited about the experiential learning activities I have planned. Each activity has a missions focus. My hope is that students will be challenged to think of how they can impact others for Jesus. All Christ followers are missionaries - we're all called to "go and make disciples." We don't have to go overseas to do this, it can be done in our homes, schools and communities.

Approx. 80 middle school students are coming to camp this week. Would you join me in praying that God would prepare their hearts to hear His Word and that they'd choose to respond to Him. Thanks!

For the sake of the Name,
Beth

Dear Team,
Hello! I hope you've had a good week and are enjoying a nice weekend. After a rainy 4th of July weekend, I'm really enjoying today's sunshine!

Below you'll find some updates and prayer requests. Thanks for reading - and THANKS for joining me on this journey to serve Jesus by serving the military community.

Blessings,
Beth
NAME CHANGE:
Malachi has recently changed its name to
CADENCE STUDENT MINISTRIES (CSM) to better reflect our connection with Cadence International and our heart for students.
2010 CADENCE CONFERENCE: FOR THE SAKE OF THE NAME:
A few weeks ago I told you about Cadence's 2010 world conference - thanks for you prayers regarding it! Over 300 missionaries from all over the world joined together in Green Lake, WI for a week to: honor our staff, connect our team, celebrate the vision, and refresh our hearts. The conference theme came from 3 John 7 which reads, "it was for the sake of the Name that they went out." The president of Denver Seminary taught throughout the week on various passages about God's name - very good stuff!

Some highlights from the conference...
1. I got to connect with a lot of other missionaries and hear their stories -this brought me great encouragement.
2. I was reminded of what a privilege it is to minister to the military community - the need is great, the soil is fertile and the harvest is ripe.
3. My heart was blessed by the fellowship, time in the Word, and wonderful worship music.

COMING UP NEXT - I'm flying to Portland, Oregon tomorrow for a few weeks.

A friend/mentor of mine, is teaching at a junior high Bible camp on Mt. Hood for a week. He's invited me to join him in leading some missions focused experiential learning activities for the campers. I think it'll be a great time.

Right after camp, I'll be joining the youth group I worked with while I attended Multnomah, on their annual mission trip to the Nez Perce reservation in Kamiah, Idaho. I'm excited to see many of the girls I got to know during my 2 years at Central Bible Church.

In addition to the camp and mission trip, I'll be able to connect with some great friends and supporters while I'm in the Northwest - I'm really looking forward to that!

I may have limited internet access while at camp and in Idaho, but I'll try to send out at least 1 update while I'm gone.

PRAYER REQUESTS: Please pray for my time in the Northwest...
1. That I'd be able to connect with supporters and potential supporters in the Portland area.
2. Camp Morrow - specifically for the experiential learning times I'll be leading. Pray that students would catch a vision for how they could impact those around them for Christ.
3. Kamiah, Idaho - for the high school girls I'll be leaning into on the trip. Pray that I'd know how to encourage and challenge them as they step out and serve the Nez Perce community.
Happy 4th of July! I hope you have a great day celebrating America's birthday. Join me in praising God for the freedoms we have in this county. I'm particularly reminded today of the men and women deployed around the world defending our freedom and fighting to extend those freedoms to other nations. Thanks for being a part of the Key Club and praying for our military community.
